I believe the report of the Gospel of Jesus Christ acording to St John is inspired of God and therefore belongs in the Bible. I thought that I answered that by saying that it is common knowledge that not all of the books of the Bible are in chronological order. But I geus there you have the answer. There are other writtings that are not nessecarily inspired of God but have truths in them. However if there is a disagreement of anything in the word of God in those writings they are in error and to be veiwed as wrong. That is why I do not adhere to the Book of Mormon or to the Jehovah's Wittnesses "translation" of the Bible as it is incorrect. I do not believe in the Apocrypha because they are not recognized as a part of the inspired word. But that is a whole nuther topic.

I was referring to your referencing to things written after Revelation. While that book was placed at the end of the collection of holy books I've seen estimates that it was written up to 20 years before the Gospel of John.

The Bible as we now have it is the word of God. Its well known that the books of the Bible are not all in chronological order. However they are all there. And the Bible is the only inerrant word of God. Not the Book of Mormon or the Koran or the Kabala or anything else. I can stand firm in my faith on the inerrant word of God the Holy Bible and all that it teaches concerning how we are to live our lives and how we are to get to heaven. I'm at a bit of a loss here (Don't get me wrong I love the Bible) but the KJV teaches that God repents, sends evil spirits and hardens hearts. Do you accept that God does that or do you see these are errors that have crept in our the years?

Its been a while ... but here goes.
I'm going to say that they are nice stories that teach things. With that being said i think that many of the things inside were spiritually inspired. However, i think that any spiritual inspiration, from the divine is flawed at best because of the vessel that it is coming through. We as humans can do our very best, but we are still trapped through our own perspective. Thus, there are some things in the bible that i agree with, and some that i don't.

God sent an evil spirit upon Saul. Yes that is true 100%. God also repented(changed his mind so to speak because of the intervention of Moses praying for the people)about destroying his people Israel at that time. Yes this is all 100% truth.
Also to Jedi Jesus Christ said either you are for him or against him. Either you believe the true report or you do not. There is no middle ground.

you are of course entitled to your beliefs but I don't find a God in the Bible that does evil and good. Its strikes me a house divided.
Anyhow thanks for the answer.

I do not see a God in the Bible who can do any evil. But he sees to it that justice is served. And we have consequences for all of our actions. God eventually sent Israel and then later Judah as well into captivity and there was a great slaughter of his people. Becuase they forsook their God for the false gods and idols the Ammonites and Moabites around them. They baked cakes to the Queen of Heaven instead of worshipping God. Their elders brought idol worship into the house of God. They sacrificed their children to Molech(reminds me of abortion today). And so God said that he would destroy them. And he did. However he left a remnant(God will always have his people somewhere. His remnant so to say).

I don't see God's use of others like Babylon to teach Israel a lesson as an evil act. It is like you indicated an act of justice because of the sins of the people. I see that sort of God throughout the Bible.
However the KJV records God sending evil spirits hardening hearts and even doing evil (Amos 3:6 for that last one). These statements lead to to conclude that the Bible as good as it is is not purely the word of God. That changes have come about over time is also supported by the historical community. If we could have flawless translations of the original words that would be great, but given the current state of that record I can't believe that it is 100% the word of God for it has too many self contradictions.

the Bible shows the fullness of God to mankind. And so it is hard sometimes to understand why God does certain things. But that does not mean that it contradicts itself. It means you are reading to much into it, or you simply do not understand the reasoning behind it.

Though I do have a question... WHICH Bible are you claiming is the word of God?

The King James is the best and most perfect english translation. There is also in the Spanish a Bible that I can never remember the name of it. Its la Reina something or other. But in the english laguage it is the king James. Now we know that others have written add ons to the Bible. But all those that claim divine inspiration apart from the Holy Bible(Old and New Testaments equaling up to 66 books)are heretical and filled with false doctrine.

I will now bow out. I have much experience dealing with Ruckmanites and refuse to do so here.

how can you be in the middle? That simply means that you are not a follower of Jesus Christ. Matthew 10:37-38 KJV He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
John 6:53 KJV Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
And many more scriptures of just Christ's sayings alone will bear witness against you dear friend. Now I know we sorely disagree on this issue. But the Holy Bible is the word of God. And it clearly gives us a picture of God. And how that we might recieve everlasting life. I pray that one day you become even as I am. A Christian who loves the Lord. It truely is a better life. And the real way to peace on this planet is only by the Lord Jesus Christ. But anyhow Ive maybe said more than I intended to say.
