Does anyone have any stories of strangers who have done nice things for you? You know, things to remind you that the whole world isn't lost after all?

The following story I wish to share with you guys was not what I was looking for exactly, but shows how there are some people out there who are "Good Samaritans". If it pleases you, perhaps we could talk about what we would have done in a situation like the one in the story. One page, quick read click it. The biggest thing a stranger has ever done for me...well it would be strangers in my case....all the firemen and police and nurses and doctors who took care of me after my car accident...and all the people who (annoyingly) attempted to comfort me after my sister's death and what have you. I hated it because I didn't want to be held and even though I still hate that they did it, I realize they just wanted to help or whatever.
Edit to add: I would have done the same thing as the lady in the story, btw. I would have given that lady my food. Heck, I give money to homeless people if I have some, but you've got to be careful though...some people just play on people's feelings and pretend to be starved or homeless or wharever.

I don't think I'd give money directly to homeless people. A lot of them would abuse it. A shower, new clothes, and a chance at a job? Sure.

A friend of mine once told me of a story of when he met this homeless man in the night. He offered to take the man out for a burger or something. I asked him why he didn't just give the man the money? And he told me that he wanted to make sure he knew where it was going. But I think it's much more important to teach the man to fish rather than to give it to him. I'd try to help them find a job if I trusted them enough to be with me. That would include my buying them the clothes to at least look good for the interview. ;D
