I think this thread could be for anything that deals with the monthly cycle and the rest of that talk. To start off we have the poll and I have another question. Does anyone here take any sort of medication for cramps? For example, Midol?

I usually take alleve, and hope that no one's head gets chopped off.

Normally I don't take anything and just deal with the pain. But there have been times that I was close to giving in. You're right about the head chopping and I feel bad for anyone who gets in my way.

I usually take whatever happens to be first in line when I open the medicine cabinet. lol I get cramps BAD! It's horrible because I'm normally a total b-tch, but come that time of the month, added b-tchiness. Ugh. My dad just tries to stay out of my way as much as possible. ;D

It messes my sleep cycle up. Usually the day before it starts I can't get myself to wind the hell down. Now I'm at getting four hours of sleep a night, when I'm not on my period I can sleep a full 8 hours or so.
I agree, I just put on my horns and fangs. Not to mention everything seems about ten degrees hotter or colder...just can't seem to be stable. I don't like to eat a lot when I'm on my period either, I just have no appetite.
I like those therma heat thingy pad things that you can put on your back or on your stomach, they make things tons better.
I too used to get baaaaaaaad cramps, so I can sympathize completely. If they're that awful though hon, maybe you oughta get yourself checked out so it's not something more serious?

I've had ultra-sounds and what-not, but to no avail. lol Speaking of the hot and cold...I remember once this past I think it was September...anyway, I was on my period and I was soooo darn HOT that my poor dad was wearing is coat around the house because he had to keep the heat down. ;D

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the hot flashes...lol people just assume it's old ladies and menopause but that isn't the issue. As for the thermal heat things, I use my dog for that. It's great bonding time for us. ;D lol

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL. Man, that stuff is great. I usually take some Ibuprofen for whatever pains me, but the primrose oil does wonders to calm down my hatefulness. Although, I should probably take it a whole week before I start my period because for some reason I have the longest PMS run of anyone I know. In fact, I couldn't decide whether I was being extra-b*tchy this weekend due to PMS or caffeine withdrawl, but I'm not due for another week and a half. I think. My cycle's screwy.

Haha. For those who've seen American Pie 2, I was just reminded of how Finch did that Buddhist meditation thing to try and stay in a constant orgasmic state. 'Guess I'll have to try it...

You know, I spent a lot of time reading this weblink you gave us Tara, and things have started in a way making sense, especially how moods are triggured by what's really going on in your body, how you're reacting to what's going on without even really knowing it.
It's only in the last year or so that I've been keeping track of when I'll get my period by using a calendar, it's been very helpful.
