Yeah, though some of the stuff the companies do is really depraved -- like the ice cream truck. Selling cigarettes in an ice cream truck? A document, which leaked, stated a company official as saying that they wanted to attract a "younger demograph." I really don't see why adults wouldn't like them, its the same idea of a bidi.

Some people just do. Just like I'll never understand people who are happy all the time. It annoys the poop out of me, but hey, whatever.

There's a difference between happy and the out and out selfish and unaware of the effect your having on the people around you. That's why I am very happy for those who are in relationships, but I can't take too much of their displays of affection. OH, it annoys me! Enough pookies and sugahboogah!
How can someone be happy all of the time, it really fails to astound me...and I don't mean to be mean. I guess I really do have depression(oh yeah, that was a surprise there) as bad as I thought. Crapbait. LOL

I know it seems like I just started, but I'm thinking of quitting my clove habit. So far I've gone... a day without them. Though this is part of my generally healthier attempt at life, I'm not sure if I want to give up based on the fact that my more wanted goal is to lose weight (no, I'm not going to go all crazy-fad-diet to reach an unattainable goal, I just feel like I've lost confidence with my past year's weight gain) and to quit smoking may leave me noshing more snack foods.

I'm a on and off smoker. Some days I can have 20 a day but that was on holiday in Italy where cigs are really really cheap! I normally have about 3 a day or even none in a day. Its starnge I can go days without smoking sometimes however I just love the feeling you get when you inhale. I tend to smoke nearer to my exams.

Maybe it's a simple breathing excersice you need and not so much to do with actually smoking.

I do get urges to smoke at times especially the morning after I smoke loads the night before. (If that makes sense)
The thing is when I drink I cant have too much without getting a strong urge to smoke. I want to quit and play sports at University but I don't think that will happen before Freshers Week starts!

Well they say fat people tend to be Jolly all the time but that might just be how they are on the outside.
How they are on the inside thats another question.

Weight is no determining factor of happiness. Losing it can be a good thing, putting it on when you've had a hard time keeping any on can be a good thing too.
Sorry, the fat people being jolly thing is a whole other topic that I don't even feel up to starting at this point.

apparently nicotine is more addictive than heroin. obviously the withdrawl symptoms are less extreme but actually giving it up is harder in the long term.
nicotine does have an effect, it's not just a breathing exercise (though that might be part of it) but personally i don't really like the nicotine rush. it makes my head spin and i break out in a very uncomfortable cold sweat. if you're addicted, however, and you need nicotine to get back to a normal level then it really doesn't seem like it's worth starting seeing as the best you can get in the long term is no more high than if you never started, except your lungs will be wrecked with tar and you might get cancer (i don't think smoking is quite as bad for you as some people will tell you - some professional sports stars smoke yet they are still able to play football or rugby just as well as the non-smoker)
i've smoked hash before (i used to smoke a lot when i was in school, then i took a clean break for about 9 months and then i started smoking occaisionally throughout uni, but now i've quit again cos i've decided it's not worth it) and i've heard that some people smoke it to revise for exams. i think it might just take the mind-numbing boredom out of revision, but tests have shown that when you are high on marajuana your IQ is 3 points less than its usual - however, if you try working while keeping an eye on your phone for any messages and checking your e-mail every 5 minutes while chatting to people on MSN, your IQ is 10 points less than its usual. not that this has anything to do with smoking, but it's an interesting fact nonetheless.
i mention marajuana because i never used to like smoking joints because they had tobacco in them and the mixture of hash and tobacco would make me feel really unwell (like if you drink a lot and smoke a lot of hash at the same time you might "whitey" and have to throw up - i get a similar sort of feeling after smoking a joint, except the nicotine rush wears off after a few minutes so it's not so bad, but for 10 minutes it's very very uncomfortable).
