I myself like listening to music all over the world. I like traditional Arabic and other Middle Eastern tunes. Some of the Middle Eastern techno is cool too. I know, I'm quite on the weird side, but what exactly did you expect?

ooh, do you guys get to listen to that music during festivals? That must be really fun. It would also be cool if there were a few world music dance clubs where we could dress up. That would be so awesome! I would do it, but I think I might invest my time more in teaching. Usually my friends and I play world music with the windows open or top down. ;D

It so would be cool Tara!
I like music from everywhere, I have no real preference. As long as it has a good beat and melody, I'm there!

Has anyone ever heard the goodies from Dean Evenson? I've got one of the cds called "Raga Cycle". It's basically meditation/royal courtish type of music from India. It's very, very traditional and the sitar as well as nice soothing vocals are present in the music. In this cd he performs with 2 other people who have had years of experience with the sitar.
