I have this addiction to all of V.C. Andrews novels. It's as if the more I read them, the more I get emotional over them. Usually I can hold back my emotions, but the other day, I was so happy that the character in the story had a reunion with someone she hasn't seen in ages and I had to stop, get up and hug my dog to death. The more I read her novels, the more I feel I can "become" the character. The thoughts and ways of thinking with the characters... I dunno, it's like I fuse with them or something. You may think I'm crazy, but start reading some of the series.

Personally, I don't think you're crazy. Most crazy people don't. ;D You know how some people shout at the characters in movies (You moron, don't go into the basement!)? I shout at the characters in books. Yeah, its a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world. Hey kids! If you can name the movie reference in this post, you can pat yourself on the back and call yourself a geezer and/or a trivia master. ;D

No I know what you mean, I've read Flowers in the Attic, it was such an interesting story-it's the power in her description I think. I saw the movie to it and I was like..er...um...not how I pictured it!

There's a movie? Well, I don't want to watch it. My imagination always beats Hollywood and any other movie making/producing whatevers. They never get the stuff right. (that's normal) Was the movie intense at all? I like intensity.

Hello All, I know this hasn't been talked about in a while but I just joined the board. I love V.C. Andrew books. I stopped buying the books after the Ruby series because the books just aren't the same since the author died. Flowers in the Attic and the Heaven series are my favorite. I have worn out the covers of all the books. As for the movie of Flowers in the Attic... I thought it was terrible, they could have done a much better job. Tedicast

V.C. Andrews, when she was alive, lived in my grandmother's neighborhood in Portsmouth, VA. My grandmother collected all of her books, and since there's literally nothing to do in Portsmouth, I would read them when we visited her for extended periods of time. At the time I enjoyed them. Now, however, I would not be able to finish one. In particular, I remember that she glamourized scenes that involved incest and pedophilia. Face it, that's pretty messed up.

I agree, but she was a good storyteller. I think murder is wrong, but I still like to read a good murder mystery.

Same here. I know some of the scenes may be disgusting, but how else would a writer be so good if their work didn't leave some sort of impression on you one way or another. For those who like a good spiritual version of V.C. Andrews (although I know one of them did have fantacial Christians in them) is the new Gemini Series. It's all into the New Age and Pagan stuff. It got me a little freaked out just thinking of such things and if someone was fanatical enough for it to actually happen. And no, it's not like the Harry Potter stuff, it's very different. The first two books are Celeste and Black Cat. I read them both in two weeks. That was some good stuff. I can't wait for the next novel Child of Darkness which is to come March 1st. This series plays on people supersticions. Aww man. I know it's not V.C. Andrews writing this series, but you guys, she would have wanted you to read the ones after her! ;D Check the ratings on Amazon.com
