Here is what is on the back of the book... Many people seem to have it all together outwardly, but inside they are a wreck. Their past has broken, crushed, and wounded them. They can be healed. God has a plan to heal the broken hearted and he wants to heal victims of abuse.Joyce Meyer was a victim of physical and sexual abuse she suffered as a child. Yet today she has a worldwide ministry of emotional healing to others like herself. In Beauty for Ashes she outlines major truths that brought healing to her life and describes how other victims of abuse can also experience this healing, which include: • How to deal with the emotional pain of abuse • How to understand your responsibility to God for overcoming abuse • Why victims of abuse often suffer from other addictive behaviors • How to grab hold of God's unconditional love • The importance of God's timing in working through painful memories For over 30 years, Joyce suffered the devastating effects of abuse. God exchanged her ashes for beauty and she wants to help others allow Him to do the same thing in their lives.

Well, I've finally finished that book I was reading yesterday. It was pretty good. Now I'm going into another book called Dark Road Home by Karen Harper. It's got a little bit of Amish life in it, so it will be something new for me to learn (hopefully, seeing as this is a fiction).

oooh that sounds pretty good. right now I'm reading "the summer I dared" by Barbara Delinsky. It's about a 40 year old woman on vacation in a boat accident where there is only three survivors, and through talking to the survivors and to her un supportive family she realizes she's changing. Plus there's a mystery of who caused the accident.

Yeah, it's been a while since I've been into mysteries. The next book I'm reading is a mystery.
Barbara Delinsky sounds familiar, but I don't think I've ever read her books. I think we've got some of hers in the basement though...

Just finished "The Cobra Event" by Richard Preston. It's a fictional book about recombinant viruses and bioterrorism. It was a difficult read and too technical in some places, but overall I enjoyed it.

I just thought I would post a link to my new book, which is mainly autobiographical in content. I hope it's all right to give myself the plug; I promise I won't spam the board about it. www.amazon.com/Peekaboo-Sun-Kathleen-Cook/dp/1442144580/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246818326&sr=8-1PS My next book, which is called "Doonal's Kin" and will be out on Amazon the end of August or early September, is about the Calyr Elves. That might be more interesting to readers here than my strange life. It will be the first in the series; at least two more are nearly done.

Thanks very much, Diane, I appreciate it. So far the book has only had local interest, but since I haven't had time to advertise, I guess that's logical, lol. The local paper did a review, which was nice. The sales are enough to keep the wolf from the door, so that's good enough for me. I never cared about getting rich....I'm a simple girl with simple tastes. Doonal's Kin is my true passion. I've been working on it and the sequels to it for quite a while. I put it on hold when my need to get Peekaboo out proved overwhelming...that was a catharsis for me. Now, I'm back on track with Doonal, and look forward to spending the rest of my literary career on that series. I hope to have that one out within a month or two. We'll see how it goes; it's hard to get my writing done when I'm in the midst of renovating a foreclosure that we just bought. It's a WRECK....my son and I are doing a lot of the work ourselves. There's not a whole lot of time for writing. Hopefully it won't take too long to fix up. Anyway, thanks again!
