As I'm sure many of you have heard Senator Clinton and many others on the left side are trying to impose Government regulations on Talk radio to insure that they can not be too one sided. The Fact that most talk radio is very right winged and that TV tends to be very left wing would of course have nothing to do with only talk Radio being targeted by this.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
You have to wonder how Sen. Clinton graduate high school let alone college when she apparently can't read.

Does this mean that Bush and all of the current congress cannot read either, seeing as they have blatantly ignored the Constitution repeatedly?

Most of what Bush has done (as far as I can tell) is legal. Much of it unpopular, but still legal. I'm not saying all or that I would nominate him for saint hood, but I take my right of free speech very seriously far more than some dodgy policy on phone tapping.

Which would matter a lot IF this was a Bush bash thread.

My most sincere apologies. I did not mean to derail your Hillary Clinton bashing thread by bashing Bush.

If I wanted to bash the Wicked Witch of the East I would start a thread to do that. I was hoping to discuss the fairness doctrine (which she has been promoting recently).

My goodness. Now you are bashing the Wicked Witch of the East!! How would Glinda feel if she heard you comparing her poor dead sister to Mrs Clinton?
On a serious note: My main concern would be who's idea of "fair" is to be used? Who's idea of "balanced" would be used?

Given our Governments wonderful track recored for doing everything so well ;D I'm not up to trusting anyone to figure out what fair is. Sadly in this current push only talk radio has been targeted and other media which tend to me more liberal in their views are not on the list to be regulated.
Even if the plan was to regulate all forms of media equally I'd still be opposed. I hate people like Howard Stern(sp?) He is rude crude and does a disservice to American society, but he has a constitutional right to say whatever he wants to. I'd be happy to see him out of work because the people of this nation refuse to listen to his trash, but not because the government shuts him down.
