Let us express our favorites. Who is your favorite Poet or Philosopher? Do you think their works get a good deal of attention around where you live?

I love poetry of all sorts, so its hard to pick a favorite... I don't know if I have a favorite poet, but I like poems. I look for the message more than the person's perspective.
I like some of the nature poems by Walt Whitman and I like a lot of chinese poetry/philosophy... japanese haikus are ok, but I never got into them that much. I like the poetic abilities, storytelling style, and the satyrical nature of Chuang Tzu.

I really love Goethe; I got into his plays and poetry when I was taking a German class years ago. I also like John Donne and the entire genre of metaphysical poetry.
