So this has been all over the news for a few weeks. What do you guys think? (Goggle gave me about 1.4 million hits on the subject so I decide to not post a link)
Anyhow the original reports I saw where that Bush gave the NSA permission to spy on Americans without a warrant.
Latter statements like the ones he gave today indicate that congress was being briefed on the practice monthly. Also that only calls where one person in the conversation out of the country could be monitored. (these details did not make it into the first reports I saw on TV)
So what do you all think good idea, bad idea, is it legal, moral etc?

Personally, I believe it's essential for a government secrecy agency to have this ability -- but also that there be recourse for individuals who suffer undue invasion of privacy. I think it's the second part where we need to address our shortcomings.
