any of you guys seen this chap on tv recently?
the american senate were questioning him about possibly using his charity to channel money from Saddam Hussein from the sale of large quantities of oil. except he didn't take it lying down, he hit back very hard at all the questions put towards him.
i used to not like him, but now i think he's pretty cool. he's a member of parliament (MP) and he used to be part of Tony Blair's Labour Party except they kicked him out because he was so opposed to the war with Iraq (as were other Labour MPs but George Galloway was the most vocal).
he stood at the recent election as a member of the Veritas Party (veritas is latin for "truth", by the way) which was one he formed and he won a seat off Labour (which is very unusual for small parties). the person he won it off was a black woman and Jeremy Paxman (you might have heard of him as well, he's an interviewer on BBC who's notorious for not standing for any politicians' bullshit) got to speak to him first after his victory was announced. the first question he asked was "mr Galloway, how does it feel to have taken the seat of the only black woman in Westminster?" ... after a bit of to and fro Paxman insisted that he answer the question and Galloway walked out, and good on him, i say, it was an absolutely ridiculous question ...
anyway, that and now this has completely changed my perspective of him.

be sure to watch the videos on the right, they are quality (also you get to hear a very good and proper west coast scottish accent ) ... i think they should work even though you are outside the UK though i can't promise anything ...
