Well I thought it was. Anyhow I’ve been chatting with people on the Belief.net debate forums. It seems that once a person has come to a conclusion that not only are they unwilling to take into consideration other views (not a big surprise), but they are willing to use all manner of deceit to discredit those who disagree with them.
There are tons of people I disagree with and many an agenda I hate, but I can’t really picture myself inventing information or misleading people just to discredit those I oppose. It is one thing to call someone an idiot quite another to twist their words into a meaning opposite of what they said.
Anyhow just a thought

The forums can get pretty ugly. There's a lot of misconceptions out there.

Too many people are overly fond of their own viewpoints that they will not take the time to change, grow, evolve and become better persons by listening to others.
The old "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up!" syndrome.

I agree. I would even go so far as to say that eveyone suffers from it to some degree or another. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone, even myself.
There have been several times here on Divine Whispers when a discussion has altered or flat out changed my view point. There have even been a couple times when I have learned that my view was based on the exception, not the rule.
Then there have been times when an explanation has caused me to re-examine and then re-assess my understanding of certain things.
Natural law happens to on of those things I thought I understod, but a recent class has shown me that I do not understand the concept of natural law which Diana was trying to explain. Though I now understand it much better than before, I still have much to learn.

Intro to Ethics.
There is a chapter on Natural Law right after Kant's chapter.
I got a 'B' in that class, by the way. I hate essay assignments.

B is good. Ethics is a tough subject, especially today.

This one involved a lot of reading. Something I enjoy anyway.
They had us read the chapters about different ethical philosophies then write essays on them. The second part of the class was writing essays on the chapter subjects.
For example: Chapter 8 was on euthanasia. We had to write an essay using the philosophy the instructor chose for that chapter and explain in as much detail as possible why that philosophy would be for and/or against it. But it could be no longer than three double spaced pages.
The other chapters were: 9] abortion 10] sexual morality 11] pornagraphy 12] equality and discrimination 13] economic justice 14] legal punishment 15] environmental ethics 16] animal rights 17] cloning and human engineering 18] violence, terrorism, and war 19] global issues
We did all this from starting on May 22, 2006 and everything had to be turned in no later than July 18, 2006.
On top of this I had another class, Medical Law and Ethics, in which I got a 99.4653%, that had tons of posting to the class message board.

...but I can’t really picture myself inventing information or misleading people just to discredit those I oppose.... I agree. My reason being that false information doesn't help anyone at all and is in fact more damaging. It could be mistaken for truth and that's just one of the worst things that could happen in the case of humanity's well-being in the future.
