I think I have seasonal depression. Basically, I get all grumpy in the winter months. But I have a feeling that maybe this is simply human. I mean, how many people do you know aren't grumpy during the winter months (that live amongst the snow)?

Me, for one. A lot of people like the winter months, too. ;D SAD (yes, thats the acronym) is an odd disease.

Could it be the lack of sunlight? It has rained a lot this year where I live. I mean, it's fine, one rainy day or so , but when it's mostly several days out of a month, it drives you crazy!
I can never quite get used to the time change itself, I'm always a bit down that it gets dark so much earlier(yes, an hour, but I don't like it), I do have my deepest depressions during the fall/winter, but, the holidays are draining too..just could be a lot of things that lead us to feeling down in the dumps, I'm not sure.

Two years ago was the worst for me, and my step-dad suggested I put lights on timers so that I would wake up with light. That worked really well the first year. Last year, though, I decided to leave a light on all night because I wasn't having trouble sleeping with it -- and it was a LOT better. This year, I have dim lights on at night... so far I'm doing really well... but I'm in a much better place than those last two years
