I've had conversations with people about shaving. Mainly it is geared towards women and the idea that it is disgusting for a woman not to shave her legs and armpits. And when it comes to shaving for men, it's optional whether they should shave their beards and mustaches. Have short/long hair and shave chest hair. does anyoen have any opinions on what people think is attractive, preferable, etc.?

A guy doesnt need too (but can) in my opinion, but the idea of really long chest hair seems a bit digusting.

I agree. I don't mind a mustache or a beard to a degree, but the chest hair...even dark, noticable leg hair...it's not all that appealing to me.

I don't find the chest hair thing appealing either. And whenever I see a guy wearing shorts, I'd ask him if he ever combs it. ;D I too think the hair can be pretty disgusting. But what about women?

I like facial hair, aslong as it's not excessive.

I was randomly surfing around on the web. I came across this. Would any of you try it? Do you think it would work?

Well......I just spend a few minutes last week shaving hubby's toes, feet, and etc. He hates his furry physique, and feels uncomfortable with too much hair. Me, on the other hand, for some reason I just don't grow hair. It looks like I just shaved my legs and underarms, yet it's been 4 months. He is jealous of me (but I suspect he wouldn't want to look THAT bare. I've offered to shave him EVERYWHERE and he has declined, lol.)
As far as who NEEDS to shave......well, I just don't know. If someone is very clean and well-groomed, I don't think hair is all that bad on anyone. Depends on how it looks. Scraggly, unwashed hair....YUCK!

tara and tigress: a lot of girls that i've spoken to say they find hairy legs quite attractive. would you prefer that guys shave their legs?
personally i shave my beard and moustache, though it's because i'm too youthful to grow proper facial hair and if i don't shave then i look like an unwashed mess. i don't think i'd really suit a beard or moustache in any case.
personally, i think women should definitely shave their legs and armpits and should probably keep their "feminine area" under control too (i was gonna put a wink there, but that would probably be a bit too sleazy ... )

Me, on the other hand, for some reason I just don't grow hair. It looks like I just shaved my legs and underarms, yet it's been 4 months. You know, I spoke to someone a while ago who told me about another person with the same situation. He said this person had some Native American blood and that it was common practice in the tribe they were from (which I don't remember) that the people plucked their hairs. He thought this person didn't grow their hair as fast b/c of some sort of genetic evolution. Apparently when you pluck/pull the hair would grow less and less and thinner and thinner. As opposed to shaving, the hair would grow back quicker and thicker. I wonder if that is a credible idea. tara and tigress: a lot of girls that i've spoken to say they find hairy legs quite attractive. would you prefer that guys shave their legs? Nah. They don't have too. In fact, I'm so used to seeing hairy legs on guys that if I find a guy with shaved legs, I'd either assume he was a swimmer or prefers to be more femminine.

I've known people who attempt to remove all hair (below the armpit) and others that are nearly as hairy as an ape. I've yet to see any different pros or cons as to their being found attractive or not.

Well, what is attractive is relative. So I highly doubt someone could come up with an objective list as to the pros and cons of what is attractive when it comes to hair removal. Maybe a list on how it affects various activities (such as swimming) would be more factual and beneficial.
