Coretta Scott King Dies at 78ATLANTA - Coretta Scott King, who worked to keep her husband's dream alive with a chin-held-high grace and serenity that made her a powerful symbol of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s creed of brotherhood and nonviolence, died Tuesday. She was 78. The "first lady of the civil rights movement" died in her sleep during the night at an alternative medicine clinic in Mexico, her family said. Arrangements were being made to fly the body back to Atlanta. She had been recovering from a serious stroke and heart attack suffered last August. Just two weeks ago, she made her first public appearance in a year on the eve of her late husband's birthday. ( continue) It would be nice to take the time to think about those who strive(d) to make things better for our country, don't you think?

True that. I remember hearing that Rosa Parks had died a little while back and I was shocked I had assumed that she would have past on many years ago. It is interesting that many of those who have shaped our country did not set out to do so but dealt with life as it came and only in looking back can we see all that they have done

Sad to lose such a wonderful person, yet at the same time...I am very glad for her that she died peacefully in her sleep. If it was my time to go...that is exactly how I'd like to pass. Here's to the Reverend and Mrs. King....both truly great people who made a great difference!
