Yes, but it could be simplified (A few statements could be clumped into [propagated] prejudice). Keep in mind, a fascist need not display all of these characteristics. Also, again keep in mind that this itself is negative propaganda; whom against you can guess.

the US government isn't quite authoritarian enough to be called fascist, in my opinion, eg. you aren't forced to do national service once you finish school or anything. i think i've mentioned this site before, but i'll mention it again cos it's relevant - there's a difference between right-wing and fascist ... www.politicalcompass.org/

True, littlepea... and we're still free to express opposing views. I honestly think most of America is middle-of-the-road conservative. But our politicians never are. At least not the ones who come up for the elections that matter.

Interesting flash (I only viewed the second one).....some of the quotes were quite interesting, and, I must admit, that is a much better piece of propaganda than the original noted. The "tie ins" to figures who evict horror and fear, the "agenda" statements which, while, in some part ridiculous, easily arouse a state of fear in a public not used to critical analysis. The red flashes were a nice finishing touch. What worries me, however, is the believable parts.... Perhaps I should start a thread on general predictions for the fate of the world (me and my mom were talking about this today; well, mostly I was explaining my theory).

i watched both flash animations - are the things in the 2nd one that are apparently republican policies (ie. pull out of the UN, repeal the endangered species act, ban all abortions including cases of incest and rape - even get rid of the dollar?) actually republican policies? it's the republican party that's in power just now, isn't it? if the answer to both of these is yes ... good grief, that is absolutely appalling ... the problem is that not only will that darn up america, it will darn up the rest of the world too

It pretty much assures a Democratic win in the next election though.

.....Which should ensure a republican win in the one after that. We tend to be quite shortsighted; the probability that the president after Bush won't be blamed for not doing "a good job" because all he can do is fix it partially. However, another republican would not be so bad. Politically, Bush and his views are rapidly becoming a "hot potato", so to speak, even among republicans.

Remember the German populace voted for Hitler back in 1933. Well the American populace voted for George Bush and that was after the war in Iraq.
I think George Bush plays the Americans public really well. Theres one thing none of you have mentioned George Bush uses the peoples fear to gain votes he plays with their fear of terrorism, etc... to gain politically and he neglects the real issues like the poverty that still exists in America, crime and Global warming that has already started to affect the planet.

I can tell you why I haven't mentioned it... because you are just going by media. I'll grant you that cowardice has a firmer grip on America in the last 40 years than in years prior, but the majority of Americans can still claim this as "the home of the brave". The main reason we vote conservative is simply that we are conservative. It would be nice to have choices less extreme than recent candidates, but that hasn't been true for about 40 years either.

I think a possible reason for Americas conservatism could be the ever lasting effects of McCarthy's communist witch hunt in the 1950's and also the Cold war against USSR didn't help. I think Americans were being indoctrinated to hate all things Left during the time of the Cold War.

We don't hate all things left... conservatives believe in moderation in all things.
