Bad Girls Go Wild A rise in girl-on-girl violence is making headlines nationwide and prompting scientists to ask why.June 13 issue - When police arrived on the scene of a fatal stabbing last week in Brooklyn, N.Y., they were stunned by what they saw. The victim, an 11-year-old girl, lay crumpled on the floor, the front of her "Dora the Explorer" T shirt bloodied. The weapon, a steak knife, was in the kitchen sink. And the perpetrator, visibly upset and clinging to her mother, police say, was a little girl in a ponytail, only 9 years old. A few days later, she stood in white socks and shiny black dress shoes before a judge, listening as her lawyer entered a plea of not guilty.( read more)

I've noticed that its only girls who fight in school. Guys appear to have wised up a little (very little), and take their fights out of school.

Girls do that in school to impress others. They want to impress boys that they're tough, other girls to back off-there's more gossip in school if there's going to be a girl fight, I guess.

one of my flat-mates for next year had this story to tell ...
basically he and his girlfriend were going through a pretty rough time and she was cheating on him with his flat-mate. he had another girl round at some point and one thing led to another when his girlfriend walked in on the other girl giving him head (too explicit?). now, he's a boxer and he taught his girlfriend how to punch properly ... when she saw what was going on, she went insane and beat the crap out of the other girl and hit him a few times before stealing his wallet, going to a cash machine (and atm) and stole all his money ...
apparently they're back together, except he's still friends with the other girl and he warns us (me and the other flat-mate) that if he's ever in the flat with the other girl and his girlfriend calls at the door then we can't let her in because if she finds out what's happening then she'll beat the crap out of all of us (3 guys and the girl) ...
he's a really decent guy, though, i'm looking forward to living with him soon ;D

It should be no secret to anyone that girls and jealousy generally go hand-in-hand. From what I read of the article, and from what I've personally observed, jealousy is the number one instigator in 'chick fights' among female youth. It's stupid, but you'll notice that most of the girls involved in these situations (as the ones in the wrong) are the stereotypical, superficial 'preps' or 'popular girls.'

Whatever the girlfriend did to that guy, I would have done too. Although I never thought of the stealing of the money. I probably wouldn't do that. Hes decent to you littlepea? lol Let's see how you get a girl after that sort of episode.

i agree that their relationship is a bit messed up and i'd never cheat on my girlfriend, but still he's sound. his girlfriend didn't hurt him much - he's used to boxing with male boxers so her punches were pretty puny in comparison - but she kicked the crap out of the other girl.
anyway, i thought it was an interesting story to tell and if he's decent in every other way then why should i hold against him something that has nothing to do with me? i might get a bit pissed off if he does it again and then his girlfriend comes and kicks the crap out of me for whatever reason, however ...
