You know what I heard about Texas on NPR today? That they supposedly have been lying about thr dropout rate saying it's only been 25% when it could possibly be as high as 42%. Can you believe that?
And another thing besides drop-out rates are testing and mandatory testing in order to pass to the next grade. How do you feel about that?

Of course they've been lying. They wouldn't get funding for their little football programs and purposefully ignore the arts, any education programs the school might need!
It's not the teacher's fault..they can't teach curriculum and basic things for shoving the importance of state tests down everyone's throats. During those years when the TASS(now called Task I think) would come around, that's all we got taught, how to pass the test.

I think that's one of the biggest problems with the public school system. There's too much mandatory testing and government involvement, and not enough time spent actually teaching the children and making sure that they understand what is being taught.
