Wandering bear takes dip in family's poolLOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A 140-pound bear wandered into a suburban neighborhood and took a dip in a swimming pool before being tranquilized and returned to the wild.[/b] If the animals can't take their land back, they might as well join us. (can't beat 'em...join 'em kinda thing)

140 pound bear? that's relatively small isn't it? (i mean, don't they grow to be about 300 lb?) still, i wouldn't mess with it ... it looks quite happy just chilling in the pool in that picture

I saw that on the news , just a cute lil bear doing laps in the pool, poor thing its' been unbelievably hot in Texas, too. We almost hit 100 yesterday. That's usually late July/early August weather, not May.
It's probably driving the animals crazy. I hope they made sure the bear wasn't dehydrated before they dropped it off in the woods.

Meh...I would have let him stay, so long as he didn't try to come in the house. I don't see the big deal. He looks rather content in the picture, as littlepea said.

How come we don't hear of coyotes taking a dip in the pool or something like that?

Lol... I'm sitting here trying to imagine exactly what it would be like to walk into your back yard and see a bear swimming in the pool... It'd have to go something like, "Holy S#*t, there's a BEAR in my pool!!! ;D
