I was checking thorugh the websites on the webrings that I monitor on webring.com and I happend to find a really good site that I have apparently forgotten about. It's called, "African by Nature". And so far, after surfing the site it is very educational. They offer books and sculptures and music. They also focus on educating people about history and how it was interpreted by people from around the world. The people who created the site describe themselves as independant, free thinking and provacative.

You know how weird that is? Until I started getting into all of the Egyptian stuff as a young adult, I HAD NO IDEA IF THEY WERE WHITE OR BLACK? I don't mean that as a stupidity thing, I honestly didn't know. I was exposed to the greek like images before, when the cultures merged. I liked the picture of what the sphinx should have looked like before all the damage happened to it. What a proud image, I can imagine what dedication it took to complete it. Stupid Napolean.
I'm serious here..think about it. The Ten Commandments on film, Cleopatra(ok, so in it's own defense I've not seen that one, but I don't really think I need to considering it's just about a love triangle).....white people? I can see why a young person might form that idea in their head if they were not informed otherwise. Not that white or black is better, it's just what you're born with.
Everybody oughta be proud of where they come from. My aunt has been tracing our family ancestors, just to do so. I do not know if someone has done that from my mother's side of the family, but I would be so grateful.
I don't understand the whole pryamid scheme where people see the paler someone is the more...ugh, I guess the world powerful he is. It goes on even to this day by all races and I don't know why on earth we allow it.
I'm spending time reading some of the essays, it kinda opened my eyes in a lot of ways. Thanks, Tara. I can't wait for the site's shops to open to see what all they have. I couldn't get to that part of it.

I can see why a young person might form that idea in their head if they were not informed otherwise. Not that white or black is better, it's just what you're born with. I know what you mean. I get disappointed when people make Egyptian movies and make the Egyptians look like what they do now. That's not what they looked like way back in the day. They looked like black Africans. What we are seeing now is a mix of Greek, Roman, Arabic. From what I've learned, few of the people living in Egypt today actually have an ancestory that goes to the native Egyptians. I guess it's kinda like how America is today. The ancient Native Americans didn't look like how we (current inhabitants of U.S.) look today. Yes, someone in my family is doing that right now. It's amazing really, you'll find parts about yourself you've never known before. Parts which you would never thought you'd one day be able to embrace. It is interesting, but it seems like this is something that has been happening throughout the world. It is kinda ridiculous, but I think it's another thing humans need to learn and grow up about. Yeah, no problem. I figured it would interest someone here. I agree, it is an eye opener. I lok forward to checking out some of the books they have to offer. I love reading.
