That's the problem, I'm smack dab in the middle of these two.
Fine, so they dont' agree with gay marriage, but do the right have to associate themselves with such religious extremists? That say they could kill a gay person and be proud to tell Jesus about it? FOOLS! I'm sorry, but the people you associate yourself with reflects what you think, especially in a political arena. Sterotypes are sterotypes, fine I'll go with that, but not when you advocate violence.

I get a somewhat awkward inbetween, too. I agree with conservatives on some points, and liberals on the other. I'll be truthful in saying, though, that I sympathize more with liberals.

I was begining to think that the way the article was written was that the author might have purposely switched around some views. Highlighting the more important fought over issues and switching them around. But that's just silly ol' me talkin'.

how did you vote in the poll on the right hand side? "Be honest: When arguing about politics or moral issues, do you caricature your opponent's views?" - i answered never because i think it's not a very wise thing to do (it's verging on arrogance in my opinion) "When you hear political opponents describe the views of people like you, do you feel like they are being accurate?" - rarely, also for that reason i never caricature my opponent's views. those answers are pretty clear to me but the results of the poll show that people often caricature opponents' views, which i suppose can be an effective tactic in a debate, but i'm more interested in arriving at the correct decision rather than trying to win every point (ie. if i'm wrong then i'll admit i'm wrong). maybe i shouldn't be a lawyer then ... or maybe i should and start a new wave of legal philosophy (sorry, i got carried away and ended up going off-topic, but hey, that's part of the fun isn't it?)

This is why I choose not to associate myself with either party.
