I am not feeling well right now at all. The stupid computer I'm using has a strange blocking program that comes with it's strange internet service. The stupid blocker still won't let me go to free server sites such as Geocities (and my site is hosted by them, so I have to go somewhere else to get to my own damn site! :frustrated:). I also can't go to Angelfire and Tripod (not that I like visiting those sites anyways). Their excuse? B/c these servers don't do much to protect viewers from hate sites. That's it. So freakin' what! You can never fully protect anyone from the hatred that's out there in the world. We have leaders of countries doing more damage than what these sites can bring and get away with it! Yet people who bring truth out there to the world get their material rated as unviewable/unreadable/uncalled for, evil, the devil's work, etc. I can no longer go to WV b/c they file it under: opinion/cult . I'm surprised I can actually go on MW! And some Hindu sites and astrology sites were also blocked (Yahoo! astrology was blocked, c'mon! ). I haven't gone to more sites of other faiths yet, but I'm sure there are others out there they wish to block. The cool side is that whenever they block a page, they allow you to send them an e-mail requesting them to recheck the page to see if it is worth being blocked and I have sent them 3 e-mails already! One of them was webring.com WEBRING FREAKIN' DOT COM they tried to block! What the hell kinda bullshit is that?! So they sent me an e-mail today in response to one of my pleas to unblock the site. They said that they will unblock the site worldwide within the next 24-48 hours. I'm glad b/c I have rings on there I need to take care of! ...Aww man. I thought Cyber Patrol was pretty bad, but this one is outrageous! For the longest time I could not use my photobucket accounts b/c of the way they claim photobucket supposedly does not review the images being uploaded. It's very hard for me to do research and pursue my studies. Sometimes, it is important that we come across the hatred in order for us to learn how to deal with it. When this program updated, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to come here, but then I realized that the servers we use do a lot of checking and have a pretty fair policy on a lot of things so they would overlook us. But still... And there are even wonderful artists' sites out there that I simply cannot view. That made me really mad... Okay...I think I'm done.

isn't there some way of disabling that mo fo?
Msn has a pop up /active xblocker. It is annoying as all get out, and I feel your pain because I have a geocities website myself. I can't view freewebs sites, either...grr.
I have to use IE so I can open pagebuilder, or otherwise I can't acess my site, at all.
See if you change services, pronto. This isn't going to help when you go to college when you need to do all that important research for papers, or even now.

You should be able to disable it easily. If you can't, then give them hell for me.

They're anti-goth, go figure. What's so horrible about the gothic culture? and what makes WV so cultic? It's a very liberal site that is anti-hate, anti-violence and pro-religious freedom! They have nothing that I've seen that is against the government. No porn, or anything! And they encourage people to be kind to one another, the very teachings of the bible (however, they aren't Christian). This is their criteria for disabling certain sites. click:frustrated: Bullsh-t! In my first post, I originally wrote that this security thing was written by a bunch of conservative Christians. Then I got rid of it thinking that was the wrong thing to say. But I don't think I'm wrong anymore. And it's an American filter and since so many people want to think that this country is based on Christian principles...well...these are the principles. Anti-alternative cultures...what kinda bullsh-t is that. I wonder if I can check out hippy sites. Oh wait, they might take it as anti-government. Ugh! If exposing truth is anti-government... what kinda society is this? Recentrly on NPR, I heard of how Bush was doing his campaign at this one school (I don't remember, this was about a few weeks back) and people came in wearing stickers of all sorts of canidates. The ones that had any other canidate besides Bush litterally had their tickets ripped up and were told to leave, that they are not welcome. This is not democracy. And supposedly we toppled Saddam Hussein for this very reason, dictatorship. We're losing our country America... Anyway, I didn't set up this filter, it was downloaded by the internet service my mom uses. Well, I just got my modem for my computer and I have to order the internet service I used to use and I wouldn't have to deal with this bull any longer. Yeah, my mom gets frustrated b/c she does a lot of research on our computer. They have sticks way too far up their asses and I got two e-mails denying access to WV and the Yahoo groups. That's when they gave me their website. I'm done.

My insticnts were correct. *begins the tears* Protecting Your MarriageThey are conservative Christians. In fact, on that very page, the person talks about being in the ministry. I knew they were against anything non-Christian. This my friends, is religious intolerance. I wonder if they have anything to do with Bush's faith based communities. I am against that. Last night as I watched the last debate with Bush and Kerry, Kerry reminded me of one of our presidents from long ago. I do not remember who it was exaclty, but they said something about how they are very strong in their faith, however, they will not let their religious views affect their decisions in politics. And Kerry said that last night soon after I had that thought.

Oh man! Get rid of it, Get rid of it!!!!
People like that make me seriously doubt my faith. I bet they won't let you look on mental health sites either because it mentions suicide..or depression.
Well, while I do agree censorship is a must for young children on the internet and I agree they shouldn't have to deal with sexuality and it's issues at their age.. frankly I think the adults should have to sit downa nd watch their children surf, just like the tv. Not just depend on a machine to raise or educate your children. I won't let my younger brother have an email address cuz I see what gets sent to you. And there are things that make myself blush, it's sick. And my brother may not like it, but you can bet that I'm in here watching from the couch what he's looking at.
You're a grown girl now and can censor what you'll look at and what you don't.
There's nothing wrong with the Gothic culture..I should know, I'm a fan of it. Such judgemental you-know-what-heads.

I told you, I didn't set it up. My mom did and it's on a password lock and I don't know the password. I've seen someone try to delete an entire internet blocker thing and the computer won't go on the internet at all. although... I could try using ctrl+alt+delete and try to disable the service from being used... But I don't know how much exactly it's interconnected with my internet service...

Er, didn't you say your mom didn't like it either? If she wants to block "bad"sites, a simple search should find some better programs (on a hunch, I bet you can't get to them).

Er, didn't you say your mom didn't like it either? Um... I don't think she had the chance to experience the new one yet... but I can't until she does. But I have good news. I got a new Mozilla browser today and I like it. My IE is totally junked and for the past two months I've been using RealPlayer's browser. It was tough not having a print button up top, but with the right click of the mouse, I was happy again. It's trange that browser worked b/c supposedly it uses IE's browser.
