This is mainly for those who watched the movie. I borrowed it from a teacher of mine and I want someone to talk to about the movie. Did anyone watch it?
Or if you've heard about it, what did you hear?

I've heard of it, yet not watched it, and my impression was that it did carry some valid points, yet was somewhat extreme.

i watched it the other day (coincidentally) and it did contain a lot of interesting information, though it was so one-sided that michael moore just pissed me off after a while ...
the george orwell quote at the end was very good because that is exactly what the US government seems to be doing (keeping the country in a perpetual state of war so it can get away with lots of controversial decisions).

What things did he say that pissed you off?

it wasn't one phrase in particular it was more just the whole thing in general - like when he pointed out the statistics, something like the salary for George W Bush as US president was $400,000 a year but what the saudis had given to the bush family over a course of something like 20 years was about $1.4 billion, then he added, "would it be rude to suggest that when he wakes up in the morning he's thinking more about the best interests of the saudis than his fellow americans?" ... or something like that.
michael moore is entitled to hold that opinion but come on ...
anyway, did you see bush the other day in his debate with a bulge in the back of his jacket? and he kept telling people to let him finish although nobody was talking ... looks and awful lot like people were telling him what to say through a wire ... (there's a current affairs quiz show on BBC called "Have I Got News for You?" and they showed clips of him and it did look an awful lot like it)
anyway, that's another issue. the facts brought up in the farenheit 9/11 were very interesting but i wasn't impressed by the incredibly one-sided way in which they were presented.

Oh, we at the house just now had a big fight over it. Dad and I got into it. He's a bush supporter. he said Michael Moore hated america. Granted, I don't think Michael Moore...is worthy of all this praise. I'm an avid conspiracy theory lover-everything in that movie is nothing I haven't seen on the internet. Anyway, mom just wanted to rent it, is all, just brought it up..and dad exploded. We'd had such a lovely evening. And then I exploded right back that I'd vote for whom I wanted. And that Michael Moore isn't the only man who could have made a movie about it, that it was all right there on the internet. Which I don't really agree with kerry, but I don't agree with Bush either. Well, they found out whom I was voting for and Dad said "it's alright, we'll vote her out and make it not count". Which broke my heart. I had been trying to hide whom I supported because I didn't want to get into a fight. I know it's a losing battle because Texas is a Bush state. And I've no problem with someone voting as long as they vote. My brother even went so far to say "Lexie and the rest of the derogatory word against gays starting with F can vote all they want. They'll not count." Hell, part of me doesn't want to vote anymore, even.

Hey, don't let that stop you from going to the polls. Even I in public do not share who I would vote for simply because it causes too much trouble. Unless of course, there is a discussion/debate set up for this kind of thing, but even still, I wouldn't 'cause people are nuts. It was not mentioned in the movie, but one person who I've met who has done research on the Bush family and the current bush administration has said that there were even ties with the Bush family and the Nazis. There is a lot of crap. BTW, no one ever seems to answer the simple question of, why do people support the current administration? Besides 9/11 and Bush acting calm... what else has he done to better our country (meaning, not someone else's) I know why people support Kerry, but I don't know why people support Bush. When Bush supporters are interviewed on TV and asked why they like Bush, they only say why they don't like Kerry and that Bush has a plan. But what is it about Bush's plan that they like? That's an answer I still haven't gotten...

I still think the stupidest reason for voting for Bush was this (exact quote, I swear): "I was going to vote for Kerry because I like what he said he would do with the country, but then Bush said it was impossible, so now I'm voting for Bush."

well i can tell you that bush appears to be a complete and total retard to people in the UK - there's programs on tv, whether they make fun of politics, current affairs or just famous people in general and there's always a sketch of bush portraying him as a useless and inept fool ...
the question just crossed my mind - who's stupider: george w bush or david beckham (famous english footballer - maybe you haven't heard of him but most of my friends that i ask can't decide ... )
