Well...as this is a science and ethics question....I didn't post it in the general religious talk section.
For or against?
I'm for it, I know most of you guys know Christopher Reeve died Sunday..he was an inspiration in a lot of ways, I get things from his foundation in the mail all of the time. He inspired me to do a lot of things, write to senators and congressmen, now I do it about a lot of issues, not just stem cell research.
Now, I don't know how I feel about a lot of things, but when it comes to this, I'm very strongly for, strongly for science and what it might do. People shouldn't have to suffer-God gave the abilities to have this science.
In the political arena, Mr. Reeve never let it go , never let them forget what important breakthroughs were possible. They were having a bill coming to pass, and they didn't pass it today because a few senators felt that "mr.reeve was too outspoken"...well dangit if you were paralyzed and found a way out, well you'd find away out if you could. I just resent some people in our political offices, very much right now.
Now, what I really want to know, though is your feelings about stem cell research. I promise to take everything in account...as this is a very heated topic in the political arena right now. What role would religion play in this decision?

I too am for it. If we can find something that will help someone somehow, then I don't see why we shouldn't do it. If it causes more hamr than help (which I don't think it will) then I am most for it.
