Just a little rain here, but it was enough to make the heat more bearable

I know what you mean about the heat. It's been scorching here. Due to the lack of rain, the crops aren't doing so well this year. We may not have corn.

Today we're expecting HEAT WAVE. Humidity and temperatures on the rise. They told folks to keep drinking water, juices and milk. . But I've been told that juice will only make you feel hotter (b/c of the sugar) is that true?

it was absolutely scorching in scotland the last couple of weeks but now it's started turning a bit more chilly, which is much more pleasant, really.
i remember one of my PE teachers telling us not to drink sugary drinks before exercise because the sugar would just dehydrate us, but then i asked my dad and he said that was nonsense - only drinks with too much salt dehydrate you (eg. sea water) and the caffeine in the sugary drinks would improve your performance when you exercise anyway. i dunno about whether the sugar will make you feel hotter but i know i always like an ice-cold sugary drink in the sun (or a beer, for that matter) and i think the advice is more concerned about people being dehydrated than being too hot.
