We must have looked up to our teachers then. I know I certainly did. I enjoyed listening to her Irish accent.

once i wrote an essay for german and in it i called my maths teacher "eine Wahnsinn" which means "female dog". i wrote it down but i meant to rub it out and write something else in its place but then when i finished i forgot to go back and change it ... the teacher had a word with me outside and i tried to fob it off by saying my brother told me to use it saying it just meant "unpleasant person", but he told me it means "a bit of a female dog" ... didn't give me any punishment, just a telling off there was another time i was really bored in a technology class and i was messing about on the computers. i decided to send an e-mail to myself and i cut and pasted "F*CK" about 40 times and wrote myself a wee note calling the teacher a baldy bastard. i didn't even mean to hit the send button but i did and when i got home i discovered it hadn't been received but i wasn't too bothered about it. a couple of days later i was called into the headmaster's office and i had no idea why i was there - turns out the school firewall had intercepted my message. i got a detention for abusing the school computers and insulting a member of staff (though i think that's a bit unfair seeing as i never intended for anyone other than myself to see it - i deserved the detention for using the swear words, but not for the insult, in my opinion). i was told that normally i would be banned from using the computers but because i was doing technology and computing (subjects which required the use of computers) then they let me carry on using them. it's quite amusing in retrospect, the headmaster asked me why i wrote it and i just said "i was really, really bored" ... i wonder if that would stand up in court ...

Once when I was in a German class back in high school, we got this horrible know-it-all, control freak teacher halfway into te semester b/c the old teacher retired. We all hated the new guy and started calling him "TIP" which stood for The Insufferable Professor. When I was in school, some of the teachers didn't bother to get a substitute when they were gone, and he was one of the ones that usually left us on our own. Anyway, whenever he didn't show up, we would spend the whole class period complaining about him to each other. We had some good times back then...

I've called several of them by their first name, which has landed me some yellings.

there was one teacher i had, he was called our "form teacher". basically we all had our "form classes", which were classes that you went to when you came in in the morning before your first actual class and the form teacher took the register and told us any announcements and we just sat and chatted until the bell rang for first period. anyway, he was my form teacher for my last two years and he thought he was a funny guy when in fact he was the most obnoxious prick you can imagine. he tried joking with us and having a laugh but i didn't like him. he started picking on one of the girls in the class and swapped the first letters of her names around whenever he said her name (eg. if her name were betty shilling he'd call her "shetty billing") and this pissed her off to no end ... which of course only encouraged him ... she wasn't a good friend of mine or anything but i hated seeing the teacher abuse his power like that - because what can she do in retaliation? to make it even she'd have to seriously piss him off which would only lead to him giving her some kind of punishment. so i started calling the teacher by his first name, "dave". he didn't like it but he carried on and didn't say anything to me. then the rest of the class started using it and eventually he told me to wait behind and said "if you call me by my christian name one more time i'll come down on you like a ton of bricks", so i said fine and stopped doing it. i should have said the reason i was doing it but it's hard to think so clearly when you're getting a severe warning. he stopped calling the girl names after that so i think he got the message, so i win

I hate when people are assholes like that. Especially teachers. They should be setting a good example, and not examples of petty childish behavior.
