I would like to see him go into Terri's room, watch her light up once she realizes he is there, watch her reaction when he tells her "we're going to let you sleep" and come out still saying that.
She is not "all but gone - except the tubes". His whole premise is false in her case.
It's sickening. We wouldn't starve and dehydrate a dog.

I know I heard. Personally, since I believe in the afterlife, I think she finally feels free. But that's my opinion. I wonder what her family's reaction was.
I saw an article in TIME Magazine, I think it was, where they showed cat scans of a normal functioning person's brain and her's. Her's was all replaced by some fluid that the body developes I guess. That's horrible.
It's too sad for me.

I dont' know how I feel about it. It just solidifies my reason to have a living will. However, I'll listen to the medical professionals before passing judgement here. Either way, 15 years was way too long for anyone to sit in a body like that with no way of expressing themselves.
But the protestors outside that hospice make me ill. They interfered with other people getting into see dying patients-one lady was not able to get to her grandfather in time for all the checkpoints.
I hate that these protestors were sitting there outside making all that racket when there were very sick and ill people inside. I was tempted to go down there myself and yell "shut the heck up!!!" Playing a trumpet like that, putting her picture on a cross.....I just shake my head at that.
I know she's in a better place and she has her dignity back. Today was so odd, because I went outside, and the sun was shining and yet it was raining down up on me. I think stuff like that as heaven's tears-maybe it was for another one that got to come home.

I'm with you on that Pandora. I don't mind protestors, but there is a time and place for everything. And the poor lady couldn't go in peace.

The autopsy shows that there are so many self rightous idiots in the world. I have heard, not on this forum, that Terri's hubby paid them off.

Terry's case is not about whether or not she was brain damaged. It is about whether we are a culture of Life or a culture of Death.

I think we are a culture of death and destruction. Is it not what we specialize in?

I think we can choose.

I feel so sorry for that woman, to not able to express herself. But then I think of Hellen Keller and how many obstacles she cleared.
I just hope that her family can come to terms with it , but I doubt it. I don't mean not t6o be sad that she's gone, because that's a given. What I mean is always questioning the diagnosis like that.

I think Terri would want her family to get over the issues and deal with their grief in other ways besides hurting others.
