I'm sorry about the rejection littlepea. But as a last resort suggestion for your sleep cycle... perhpas you should just move to where that sort of cycle is accepted... ;D

lol, i'll bear that in mind ... the lecture on monday after the all-nighter was quite strange - i can't remember much of what went on apart from having some strange mood swings ranging from unreasonably happy to unsurprisingly fatigued. i also remember trying to talk to people during the break and not being able to think of anything to say. i went home and slept from 2 till 7, but i was still too tired to do any work for my lecture on tuesday and went to bed by about mid-night. i got a good night's sleep, though, and the lecture wasn't bad despite being unprepared. the highlights were when i was trying to make a point and people kept interrupting and i said "oh for darn's sake" a bit too loudly and everyone went silent - it was a good point i made, though. also, i asked an intentionally basic question and the girl sitting next to me gave a very unsatisfactory answer and we started arguing and the lecturer took her side and joined in taking the piss out of me ... it's a conspiracy i tell ya. i'll get them back next week, i'll prepare like i've never prepared before and i'll set them up with a deceptively obvious question and then knock the stuffing out of them ... muahahaha! anyway, i went to sleep for a while after getting back from the lecture and then drank quite a lot of caffeine and now it's 5.10am and i know i'm tired but the caffeine is keeping me going. still, i'll definitely get up at a reasonable hour tomorrow cos it's football day and i have to be up before 12.45 - 7 hours sleep is plenty

Maybe it's time to go see a doctor. How could something like this be so sudden?

i didn't get to sleep until about 9am this morning, and then i was up at 12.30 and straight off to football. i hate playing on an empty stomach, it severely reduces my stamina, and we lost 3-0 anyway, it was annoying but still enjoyable (cos i love football . anyway, i've been up since then and i think i'll have to go to bed soon cos i'm tired. it's dead annoying how my sleep cycle keeps jumping about so spectacularly - on monday night i get a good night's sleep and feel great going to my lecture at 9am on tuesday morning, but then during the afternoon i feel really shattered and take a nap and sleep for a few hours (i remember it was about 3.30 till 7) and then i'm completely unable to sleep that night. it's crazy. it could just be stress since there's a lot of things piling up and the deadlines for my course essays are about a month away etc. i expect that if i went to a doctor he would tell me just that though he may offer some sleeping pills. if i still can't fix it after i've gotten past these burning issues then perhaps there is something actually wrong with me, but for now i'm pretty sure it's nothing serious.

don't think so, it's just my sleeping that's gone really haywire. i had a good nights sleep last night, but the same thing might happen today as happened on tuesday - i'll have a nap in the afternoon and then won't be able to sleep at all at night

Have you tried not napping?
Also... I've heard something about how in some cultures, people would take about a half hour to an hour nap during midday and it would make them feel as rested as an eight hour sleep.

i try not to nap, and i only got into the habit of having a nap in the last couple of weeks, but if i'm really tired then it's pretty much unavoidable. i don't need a nap during the day if i can sleep in, i only feel really shattered if i've been up since before mid-day, even if i've had a good nights sleep before that. it's a bit strange. if i'm actively doing something (like playing football) then i can skip the nap, but if i'm just farting about on the computer or even working in the library then i start falling asleep in my chair so i think that i might as well just lie down.
i know that in spain or mexico they have a siesta where they sleep through mid-day, though i thought the reason for that was that it was simply too hot to do anything else. they probably don't have a siesta if theywork in a big office with air conditioning.
i'm sure i'll sort myself out over the weekend or something.

Yeah, vegetables like brocclli... I think the deeper the green the more iron you're going to get. I also heard it's better to steam these vegetables than to have thme overcooked. (I like them best that way myself. ;D )

last week i got up at 8am every morning and was asleep by 10.30pm every night. it was good in that i was fully awake during the day every day but bad in that if i wanted to watch something on tv late at night then i really just couldn't. i think it started after i did another all-nighter from sunday till monday and then got home and slept from 4pm till 4am, then i stayed up the whole day and was fast asleep by 9pm and then woke up at 8am the following morning feeling pretty refreshed, and then i was asleep by 10, then up at 8, then asleep by 10 etc. i've broken out of it now, though, since i intentionally slept in on saturday cos i had a ceilidh to go to that night and didn't want to fall asleep during it. the ceilidh (kay-lee - scottish country dancing / booze up )was great and i got home at 3am then woke up at 1.30pm on sunday and i've slept in again today (missing another lecture). still, i have two 9ams to get up for in the next 2 days so maybe that will break me back into the cycle, who knows ... at least i now know that it's possible to get to sleep before 10pm

yup, i've definitely broken out of the good cycle now - i missed those two 9am lectures and today i got up at 4pm ... bah humbug. still, i don't need to be up in the mornings these days cos i'm just doing some massive essays due in for next week. once they're handed in things will be a lot less stressful and i can relax for the first time in months. at the moment i just have to keep working, though, and it doesn't depend on me getting up at any particular hour so i'm not too bothered about it.
