Some people feel marriage is not fulfilling if sex never comes in the picture. What are your thoughts? Is sex necessary for a happy marriage?

hmmm I would say for most, it's the most intimate expression of love. Initmacy of that kind is very important when you are young, I don't know about when you are old.

I would say its less important than our society says it is, good God, I hope so at least... can't turn on the T.V., but I still think it is important. Like Pandora said, its a display of love and also all the other benefits that come from doing it. But, then again, my religion says a healthy sex life for someone my age is four times a day. Break a hip bone...

I heard something like that too, except presented as scientific evidence...

I most defintley agree that intimacy/sex is a VERY important part of marriage. I know it's very important in mine.

Well I'm not married, but my classes on marriage all point to sex being a vital part, but far from the be all end all fix all to life’s problems (maybe we should tell Hollywood).

I would say that sexual compatibility is what's important... meaning that you agree on its meaning and importance. For example, you would want to be sure you had similar expectations and definitions (none of this, "it depends on what is is..." stuff!)

I agree ;D I know a couple who are happy with only have sex once or twice a year. This is NOT the norm, at least not from my experiences, but it is something that happens.
