Most of us here should have at least one memory that reminds us of how much we looked up to our parents or grandparents. I know for me, I've always looked up to my grandmother. To me, she's always seemed to have a strong backbone and we both shared the stubbornness which can be either good or bad. And she's very intelligent and ambidextrous. ;D

i suppose i used to look up to my dad, but these days he seems to be getting more bitter and old, it's not good it was funny when i was a wee boy because whenever i did something wrong i always used to blame it on the dog ("max did it") or i'd say "daddy mend it " yes, i was very cute

Role model? I had a role model? I must be fairly odd not to have had one.... I would say I look up to my grandfather some. He's old, yet still active, gentle of ways, a good sense of humor, and brilliant. I just never felt the need to idolize an individual (as far back as I can remember).

i know what you mean, i don't think i idolised my dad. i didn't want to follow in his footsteps (ie. choice of career), i didn't support the same football team as him and i didn't follow his religion. of course he influenced me, he usually encouraged me to be open minded for instance, but i hate the way he is now in many important ways ... was he always like this? possibly, or he's just turning into an old man ...

I really don't know if I look up to just one person in my family or did when I was little. I guess as you grow and you find things out about your family members they lose some of that status that you gave them, just a bit. It's not that I don't love them. *shrugs*

I never really idolicized anyone either in the sense that I wanted to be like them. I actually found it quite annoying when people would go nuts putting people on pedastals because of looks and such things. But now I understand why people are like that. Maybe we follow people without realizing it. you know how they say we become like our parents when we grow up.... lol...poor Max. I did that with my pet turtle. one time I was teasing the turtle by tapping on the tank on various sides. Then I guess one time I tapped it a little too hard and shattered the tank. It was on the floor, so it was alright. But still. I was four about that time and both my parents came bursting in my room inquiring what happend. I tried as hard as I could to look innocent and blame the turtle for that. lol My parents looked like they were going to burst out laughing, but I was truly scaredf getting in trouble. Ah, those were the days. lol
