Tortured art, on the other hand, is done for various reasons, but preventing evil is not among them. At best, it can only be said that the artist is trying to expose evil -- not prevent it. I've done various art styles myself, including some pictures that might be considered on the morbid side, but I didn't do it for evil purposes; I chose to get my negative energy out in a constructive way through those partuicular pieces. I've also done lots of art of the opposite type as well, so it's not like everything I've done is overtly bad taste.

I think anything whether disturbing or uplifting, as long as it gets me to think, leads me to some insight, is worth it.

If art is an expression of the soul, then what about those people who lack the talent to express it? Not everyone can draw or paint etc. Well, that is somethign for them to work on. There are so amny different ways to express yourself. You can build things, sing, dance, act, draw, paint, write, etc. If you seek long enough, you will find what you are best at doing and you can use that for expression. We all create in our own ways whether we acknowledge it or not.

Even for those who don't have artistic talent, they can still create art, whether it's good or not, for personal reasons (like expressing themselves)
