I know not everyone here if from the US, but for good or bad the US impacts the lives of most of the people in the world. So I thought I'd see who likes who for president and why?

I haven't decided yet... I don't usually form strong opinions until the debates.

As far as the presidency goes, i definitely couldn't stomach another republican in the white house. That leaves Hilary, Obama, or Edwards. Hilary i believe is to polarizing and hard nosed, plus she can't admit she was wrong in voting for the war, if she could do that i might consider her a serious candidate.
That being said originally i was for Obama, but recently as both him and Hilary have been doing their head to head spin wars, I'm starting to gravitate toward Edwards truthfulness and no nonsense attitude.
John Edwards 08
thats it for the politicians, though every candidate leaves something to be desired, especially when my ideals are more in line with the Students for a Democratic Society (www.studentsforademocraticsociety.org)

Yea I was listening to a radio talk show driving to work the other day they played quotes from Sinter Clinton saying that Saddam had chemical and biological weapons and that we had to take him out. And her now saying that if she had been the president she would have never gone to war. I'm not crazy about some peoples politics, but I hate liars.
As far as Edwards goes from what I've heard he has this big thing on there being 2 Americas and he lives in the rich one, but is making a big deal out of trying to help the poor one.
Rudy is so liberal I can't believe he is running as a Republican.
McCain I'm unimpressed with and I don't think he can in.
I like Romney's health care plan I'm not ready to campaign for him either he's done a little flip flopping on some issues which I dislike.
Maybe I should see in Nader is running?

I finally saw something from Obama that I like. He was talking at the Bloody Sunday Commemoration. This was directed toward parents:
"turn off the television set and put away the Game Boy and make sure that you're talking to your teacher and that we get over the anti-intellectualism that exists in some of our communities where if you conjugate your verbs and if you read a book that somehow means you are acting white,"
I still don't want this guy running the country, but at least he is willing to take a stand for something right and hopefully motivate one of our subpopulations to rise above the negative stereotyping that some seem to wallow in.

Okay I finally found somebody who I think A has a snows balls chance (unlike Romney) and stands up for things I think are vital (unlike Rudy who is trying to side step at least one major issue).
I'm still going to learn more, but for the time being I'm all for Mike Huckabee. I've not dug into his track recored, but I like his position on a lot of issues.

Hillary has promised to have Billy boy be an ambassador to fix all the problems Bush has caused. How a executive endorsed nymphomaniac seducing woman around the world will help I don’t know, but it will give Bill a second chance to shame our nation and second chances are important. ;D

I know its a bit late since the elections come and gone (Obama won) but I thought I would share an Islamic view of the US elections (I don't necessarily agree with everything this guy says).

Who is this? Is he well-known in the Moslem community? Well he is well known in the UK. Hes one of those self appointed leaders of the Muslim community. He is conservative. He is labelled as an Islamist by wikipedia. He has appeared on televised discussions. Some of what he says is embarrassing to some Muslims but he tries and puts the other side of the argument, He leads the most of controversial protests (making news coverage) in the UK. (Edit to add link: www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/72593/Protest-of-hate-praised/)Some people say he gives Muslims a bad name, some Muslims agree with him and some are completely embarrassed by him. Some Muslims see him as representative of them but some don't see that at all. Some people even allege him to be like a paid agent for the British government. I was just posting it because he argues that politicians may say things like they (Obama) will bring 'change' but he wont exactly do a U-turn of US foreign policy. So its probably going to be more of the same.
