There is this amazing website were you can test your conscious-unconscious feelings towards a variety of subjects. I think the way the test works is actually really clever. The Implicit Association TestYou first pick your country. Then you can pick a test on a range of issues and topics. I found out that I have a slight preference for the UK over the USA. I also have a strong preference for straight people over gay people. I also have a preference of White people over Asian people. The result that shoked me most was that the first time I did the Race test it said that I prefered Black people over White people. However the second time I took the test it said there was no difference. (Just browsing at the tests for Americans it seems as though you have a few more interesting tests that I would like to try) If anyone can please post what your results were (and be honest about it) P.S. I dont know if this is the write section for this thread

# My feedback was that 'the result could not be determined'. Does this mean I have no automatic preference or association?
Answer: 'The result could not be determined' means only that, for one of several possible reasons, the data produced in your test were ones that cannot be interpreted confidently with regard to automatic associations. This is different from a result that shows little or no association, which will be reported to you as 'little to no' automatic preference/association (not as 'could not be determined').

I'm not so sure I agree that the test is accurate. For example, I think because I am left-handed I automatically think of "good" as being on my left and "bad" as being on my right. So there's a left-right bias.
Also, I believe I have an automatic preference for things that are closer to who I am. So I would automatically prefer European American to African American, not because I'm racist, but because I'm of European American descent -- they are more familiar to me. Similarly, I'm assuming the career/family one is affect by the fact that I'm a woman who has a career, and not a family.
Anyway, here are my results (followed by whether or not this matched my expectations):
Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for European American compared to African American. (MATCH)
Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for Ronald Reagan compared to George W. Bush. (MATCH)
Your data suggest a slight association of Female with Career and Male with Family compared to Male with Career and Female with Family. (DOES NOT MATCH)
Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for Abled Persons compared to Disabled Persons. (MATCH)
Your data suggest a moderate association of African American with Harmless Objects and European American with Weapons compared to European American with Harmless Objects and African American with Weapons. (DOES NOT MATCH)
Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for Other Religions compared to Judaism. (DOES NOT MATCH -- I really think their inclusion of Christianity in "Other Religions" threw this one off.)
Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for Gay People compared to Straight People. (DOES NOT MATCH)
Your data suggest little or no association between European American and Asian American with American and Foreign. (MATCH)
Your data suggest a moderate association of Native Am. with Foreign and White Am. with American compared to White Am. with Foreign and Native Am. with American. (MATCH)
Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between Thin People and Fat People. (DOES NOT MATCH)
Your data suggest a moderate automatic preference for Other People compared to Arab Muslims. (MATCH)

It means that you dont have a preference for "x" or "y" or you dont prefer old people to young people. It means you view the two as the same.

Your data suggest a slight association of Female with Career and Male with Family compared to Male with Career and Female with Family. (DOES NOT MATCH) Maybe you want to have a house husband (ie a husband that stays at home)?? I actually did this test even though I'm not an American and I had a "slight preference" to Judaism . Maybe you are secretly (your internal lust is for women) gay? Have you ever thought of this posibility? Maybe you view Arab Muslims as terrorist?

I took the Judaism test and the results where unclear or however they put it.
The test has a flaw if it functions the way I think it does. By conditioning a person to push this button or that when this or that pops up and than rearranging it the latter ones will be slower and have more mistakes because the person is fighting to over come the conditioning they have been going through.
It is kind of fun though

yea so as near as I can figure if you go through the first section faster than the 2nd one or vise versa they rate your association.
according to them I have a slightly higher tendency to associate black people with weapons. Which is odd because I am very pro gun and have only gone shooting with white people. I think it is interesting but lacking in reliability.
