Okay, I got it. (took some common sense ) Plants must have some sort of nervous system but not the kind that we have that could make one aware of their existence. For example, the Venus Flytrap was brought up, but like previously mentioned, it has nothing to do with actually knowing, but a reflex. But in order to havea relfex, there is some sort of nervous system there. So it's a simple nervous system but one that is not complex like ours where the plants can proceed to have thoughts. But DNA can hold memory and the DNA is located in the nucleosis (did I spell that right? ). The individual cells... can they have a memory of their own and not the plant itself?

Yes, a refresher in biology would be helpful! But I didn't like it like you did ;D
If memory serves (no pun intended), DNA "memory" is actually just a change in the order of amino acids. So it could be compared to a computer's "memory" which is just a change in the order of 1s and 0s.
