Do you believe in ghosts? Care to explain your reasons?

What do you mean by ghosts?

The only meaning of ghosts I know are spirits of dead people. Do you know any other?

I meant apparitions, or the physical appearance of a soul, versus them just being there.

Can you explain? It's early in the morning for me.

That is, I believe one may be "gifted" with the ability to contact souls, yet I do not believe in physical "hauntings."

I have seen shadowy figures float by in hallways. Once was after the death of an old friend. I think they were demon spirits though.

My home is a 600 year old farm house with a healthy(?) population of ghosts. I have seen a grey haired cook / housekeeper in the kitchen, and a tall dark figure standing in doorways. A medium once told me there was a little boy ghost who played on the stairs.. There are others here too. All fairly harmless.

Do they do anything that many would deem "strange"? Such as move things and make noises?

We get the strong smell of pipe tobacco when one (presumably male) ghost is visiting. Also someone / something used to plait a pony's mane overnight. When the pony died (due to cancer) this stopped - ie didnt continue with other ponies. Things very often go missing in the house - only to reappear some weeks or months later in obvious places. There has also been some polterguise activity, but no one was hurt.

I see ghosts all the time. I hate it when they just stare at you and don't do anything.

Yes, its awful when they stare - most rude. I'm sure they do it on purpose. And the spooky guy who smokes his pipe in our home on cold stormy nights should know it is a no-smoking zone.

Haha! lol I don't see ghosts. I don't recall it although I've had dreams that they were near me, but that doesn't always have to mean something.

When my grandfather died, both my brother and I would see him in the house.
I also had some ghost activity show up in a photo of mine, I gave it to someone who claimed to be psychic and she says it's an ancestor, but I'm not sure.

The only thing with photos for me is that the ones I took in Salem,Mass cemetary with a friend never showed up clear. you could barely see us. It was daytime when we took the pictures but they turned out very dark and in one there was something white, but it looked solid so I assumed someone's finger was in the way.
