I just went today with my mom and uncle. It is a gorgeous day, but I'm not much of a fisher. In fact, I'm not really into it. However, I did help out a little by holding onto the fish while someone else pulled the hook out. I think I was entertaining others by telling people I couldn't watch b/c it looked painful and I felt bad for the fish (although I heard fish don't feel a thing...? ). One of the ones we tried to put back ended up bleeding to death. So we left that one out for the birds.

lol I know what you mean Tara. I feel the same way about fishing... I've only done it twice and the second time was reluctantly. I think I've only ever caught one fish (the first one, after which I kept hoping I wouldn't catch another).

lol I've done it-my dad loves to fish. Do I like to fish? Well, not really , either. Mainly because you have to sit, sit, and sit some more. However, I did like to night fish. I used glow in the dark lures and those actually worked. LOL it was fun to see the lures through the water.

i've tried fishing in the sea off some rocks on the coast with my dad once, but i've never been out in a boat on a lake (or loch). i caught a fish in the sea but it was pretty small and pathetic. it was a cold and miserable day (though unusually for scotland it wasn't raining) and it was dead boring, but at the same time quite enjoyable why is it that women tend not to be interested in things like fishing, computer games, contact sports etc?

I love to fish. I am a firm believer in catch and release. Mainly because I do not like to clean fish.

I enjoy computer games. We all know men only like contact sports because it gives them an excuse to show each other up... ;D

heeheh i bet little pea has something to say about that, Tara. j/k As for computer games and sports, men would rather have a root canal than go to a musical, ballet, or any kind of arts. Just try to find a man that would like to go to one of those.

I can't wait for littlepea's response. ;D
I'm sure there are men out there who enjoy ballets and the arts. I'm sure the men would go to ballets and such for reasons different than many women would be going for. lol Anyway, I'd prefer a man into the arts (doesn't have to be ballet lol)

i don't mind plays and musicals but i wouldn't go to a ballet classical concerts would be good too and pantomimes are a good laugh. the only contact sport i really like is football (soccer ). i played rugby for a while in school but i really hate it these days, there's just no skill to it. i think it's society that's to blame - when we're gowing up we're always told that it's boys who like playing rough and fighting and stuff and girls should be all petite and like ballet etc. that's why there's some exceptions. i was watching the women's football european championships when they were on last month. the football was rubbish (i was probably better than them) but the women were getting stuck in just as much as the men when they play. plus there's the added bonus that the players are better to look at ... i'm in love with the english left-back, rachel unitt ... what were we talking about again?

I'm sure the men would go to ballets and such for reasons different than many women would be going for what exactly do you mean by that? are you saying that women only go to ballets to see the men in tight trousers? another thing - i'm a guitarist and when i go to parties, if there's a guitar lying around i usually pick it up and start playing at some point. the guys are usually very impressed (cos i'm a pretty good guitarist, i can do lots of widdly impressive things) but the girls are more interested if you can sing (like, just strum chords on guitar and sing along, rather than play big face-melting guitar solos) why is that?

The power of words? ;D
You're right, littlepea... I've noticed guys seem much more interested in riffs... Myself, I'm a lyrics nut.

lol though it's been a long, time since I've seen a musical, or aballet..it's just fun to people watch. You can tell the men who just went there to please their wives, and you can tell when they're going because they want to. Dead serious. Hmm, I'm just not quite sure why that is.(women liking men singing than men playing instruments). Maybe you need to knock some of these gals upside the head.

It shows talent and coordination I guess. How many men do you know that aren't coordinated and all clumsy? And littlepea, I have sympathy for men in tights than anything else. No ofense to any men that do ballet, but it must take a lot of guts to have the whole world get the opportunity to see such things, especially with the kinds of things society brainwashes us to believe.
