When I was smaller I always watched Sesame Street. Nearly everyone I know did. What were your favorite characters? Mine were Grover, Cookie Monster and can you believe it? Oscar the Grouch. lol I thought it was so funny when he'd tell people to scram and then hide in the trash can. What a way to turn monsters from a negative perspective into a positive one for children. And of course...who can resist The Count's laugh. "Three bats! Ah, ah, ah!" That ridiculous laugh makes me laugh. I used to be afraid of him b/c everytime he laughed, it would thunder and lightning, but I think it's hilarious now.

I loved Grover, especially Super Grover. There was a skit between Ernie and Bert that makes me laugh all the time. Bert and Ernie were fishing and Bert couldn't catch a thing. Ernie decides that if they would tell the fishies to jump in the boat they might catch some. Bert tells him no, fishing has to be done in a whisper. Ernie yells anyway "HERE FISHY FISHY" and the fish just jump in the boat.

Oh I loved them all. All the male ones, that is. I couldn't stand the squeaky voices they gave to all the female muppets.
Pandora, love your Kermit/catnip sig.

Sometimes I liked Kermit the Frog, and other times I thought that he may not have been "cool enough" for the other characters. Don't ask why I thought these things when I was younger.
And I was just thinking....who could resist the Mupets!

That's hard to say; I loved them all! My favorites were probably Grover, Oscar, and Big Bird. Isn't it wonderful how we used to watch Sesame Street years ago, and it's still entertaining kids now?
And I loved the muppets too!
*sighs* This really makes me wish I could return to the "good old days"

No more wishing, they still show on TV. ;D
Except the other day when I was randomly changing channels, I heard Elmo singing the theme song to "Elmo's World". I was disgusted.

Another example of that squeakiness. It's bizarre.

Depends on where you are and what cable plan you have. But where I am you don't need cable to see it as it comes on one of the public stations.

I always feel really weird replying to these threads because it's always 'when I was smaller.' When I was smaller? I still watch Sesame Street. I love LOVE the Muppets...Muppets' Treasure Island (awesome movie!). I have to admit though, I was scared to death of Guy Smiley (the gameshow host). I think it was his eyebrows.

Oh my favorite muppet movie is "muppets take manhattan". I still kinda watch Sesame Street from time to time if there's nothing else on, but that Elmo's World song drives me nuts! Pbs kids shows are kinda cool, since I have a brother that's a bit younger than I- I have watched my share of them. Authur's really good..I'll admit to that being a favorite too.

Yeah, Arthur was good too. I like the shows that come on PBS. Very educational and informative...now I remember what happend during my lost childhood years, I watched this stuff. (As well as Barney). I loved Barney so much. I guess it's because of this one thing I remembered about the kids believeing in him enough to make him come true. I liked that show of 'faith' they had. lol I loved Barney to the point that I actually had this styrophome Barney thing on my wall over my bed.
Now that's embarassing.
But tonight, if I find any muppets tapes, I'm watchin'
