Do you recall which movie you played as a child over and over again? Mine was Bambi. I played it until the VCR ate it. lol Never had another copy since. I heard Disney came out with a newer version and I was thinking of buying it for reminiscing sake. ;D

Hmmm... I actually didn't read many over and over. There were too many good ones still to be read! As a really young child, I loved The Borrowers, The Littles... also The Mouse and the Motorcycle. I guess I was fascinated with little creatures doing big things A little older, I was into The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew... similar corny (but entertaining) series. I think even The Partridge Family had a series like that.

Hey, I actually enjoyed Nancy Drew. I remember reading those starting in fourth grade b/c that's when I first heard about her.

i used to read the book "matilda" over and over again. it was 21 chapters long and i promised myself that i'd read 3 chapters a night and finish it in a week but i'd always read more than 3 each night cos it was so good as for films, i used to watch back to the future all the time when i was younger, and more recently i downloaded eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and i've watched it about 20 times as well

Have you ever gotten the chance to watch Matilda? I thought that movie was pretty cool. But when my cousin first saw it, she thought it was scary and wanted to turn it off. lol

Although I watched The Little Mermaid dozens of times, my favorite movie when I was a kid and still my favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I broke the first tape we had of it in one week. I watched it over and over.
Tara, you'll love the Special Edition Dvds..it has tons of neat stuff . Bambi has some interesting things on it. I'm a bit older than you, and I remember seeing all the old films in the theater, right before VCRs got affordable enough and Disney started putting all the films on tape. I love the Owl out of Bambi best.

Oh yeah, The Little Mermaid was awesome too. That was another one I watched all the time. I enjoyed it very much when she'd sing. I'd be singing along. ;D

i did see the film of matilda and it was pretty good. it was american, though, whereas the book was written by an english author Rold Dahl (sp?) and some of the cuteness was lost in translation in my opinion i haven't read it or seen the film in years, i might give it another shot, see if it's as good as i remember ...

I watched the Wizard of Oz and the Little Mermaid all the time, along with the Teddy Bear's Picnic and the Railway Dragon. I still love them. As for books, I enjoyed the Gingerbread Man, Be Nice to Spiders, anything by Robert Munch, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, the Babysitters Club, Grimm's Fairy Tales, Andersen's Fairy Tales, the Sesame Street books and the Berenstain Bears. I still enjoy all of these, of course. I can't help it.

Wizard of Oz... . I've always hated it. I thought it was annoying and cheesy. And quite frankly, I hope one day in my lifetime I'll find someone who actually agrees with me. lol The Babysitter's Club... how long has that been out? I think those should be handed down to little girls when we get older just like the Nacey Drew Series.

Well I've watched several different takes on the Wizard of Oz. I like the story, but mainly for the wicked witch. I understand though-I don't like Old Yeller(it's not that it's not a sad movie, but for some reason I'm abnormal because I didn't cry), and I really don't like Casablanca. I watched Casablanca going, what on earth is the freaking deal? Not that it's a kid movie, mind you, but sometimes you can watch what is considered a classic and go "ok?" .
I read a lot of books growing up, my favorites would be Willy Wonka , Charlotte's Web, Little Women. I think Grimms' Fairy Tales is something everyone should read, especially the older versions of the classic stories. Some of them are so adult in nature!

How about "The Wiz"? At the time it came out, I was still an MJ fan 'cause he was still somewhat recognizable -- and, of course, very talented.
I'd forgotten about Roald Dahl's books, Pandora. I loved the Chocolate Factory series... definitely read them about a million times, and sang the songs everywhere.
I didn't get into the brothers Grimm... but I did read the colored (Red/Blue/Green/etc.) Books of Fairy tales.

Oh yeah, of course I've seen "the wiz"! I think I've seen most versions of it, except for of course the broadway play "WICKED" (and that I don't know about just yet, just because I don't know if I'm going to have the moohlah lah) . When I was in a gift shop recently they had lil bobbing heads of the characters and I automatically went out and picked the wicked witch. I don't know why I like her, just that I do. I have a really neat dorothy music box though that's from the 80s when they re released the wizard of oz. I found her a year ago for 20 bucks, and I'm sure she's worth more than that, just looking at ebay.
