Who here likes decorating? And if so, have you done any sort of theme to your house or a specifc room (remember the cat house? lol)? For example, people may like the Country theme or a Victoria theme.
And if you haven't, what kind of theme would you enjoy and wouldn't mind doing?

I tend to be rather eclectic in the decorating of my home as well as my Spiritual life, but I suppose that would make sense.
I love country, victorian and primitive, but the one constant in all of them is anything old. I LOVE antiques. I live in a 100-year old house. It was actually the original farmhouse in our area owned by the Bridger's. We bought it from Mr. Bridger, the son of the original owners. (The road we live on is called Bridger Road.) He is getting up there in age and wanted to live in Florida, I believe. I love my home. You may think this odd, but I just connected with it. The minute I walked in, with all its charm and character, it won my heart.
I have so many things I want to do, paint, yard work, etc. I've just decided to take my time, it shall by my life's work and a labor of love.

You sound like me although I no longer live in a house over 100 (I did for quite some time). I have a pretty ecclectic taste as well and I do the weirdest things that I think are pretty that many people I know wouldn't even dream of doing. But hey, who cares? ;D I like little knick-knacks (but cool ones, not annoying ones that make sounds and do stupid things) and art... art must be a big part of my home. But I'm cheap too, so I'll just purchase prints when it comes to wall art since it looks good to me anyway. If you haven't checked out the art section of the board, then go there now. That's where you can find what kinds of arts I enjoy. That's why I enjoy shows like that room swap show...what's it called? Where siblings do each other's rooms? That's the kind of decorating I'd do for a kids' room, and with the cheap budget too. ;D

I love knic-knacs too. As well as pictures, especially old ones, of course. Which is kind of cool because I've found some reasonably priced ones for cheap because they're not perfect (which just endears them to me even more!). Music, candles and scent are also important parts of my home. I guess that's not necessarily decorating (but they're important to me in making my house feel like home), unless you consider my cello (which I still have to learn to play), my Native American Flutes and my drum a part of the decor... I know I do.

I'm right with you there. I love candles although I enjoy oils a lot more (but they can be expensive).

I like Victorian and Edwardian era furnishings, myself. Although, I think that if I got the chance (and had the money), I'd go with Victorian Gothic meets Oriental. The way I have it pictured in my head it looks really cool.

Hmm... I'm having a tough time picturing that combo.
