lol about the Greek alphabet thing. With all these crazy weather patterns now, what do you think this will say about the upcoming winter? #paranoid#

Why do they name them after Greek letters anyway?

this winter is supposed to be the coldest winter ever to be recorded in the UK, or so i heard ... suits me, personally, cos we hardly ever get enough snow in the mountains for good snowboarding in scotland, but this might make it actually good fun (rather than the usual "dodge-the-rocks" farce)
gamma is only the 3rd letter in the greek alphabet, it's not like it's G in our alphabet or anything. epsilon is the 5th letter and there are 24 letters in total.
alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, éta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu, xi, omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi, psi, omega. each letter sounds like the first letter/syllable of its name, usually.

this winter is supposed to be the coldest winter ever to be recorded in the UK, or so i heard ... I believe that. I've been watching the animals, and they've been running around like they're on crack. lol
